Six people from Bulawayo, Columbus, Houston, Kaunas, Pittsburgh and San Salvador come together to discover the real real. They ask questions about who has the power to tell a story, who owns it, and how to claim autonomy in a content-obsessed world. This devised performance is a collage of fiction, personal experiences, AI-generated material, and puppetry.
The piece builds and rebuilds worlds to imagine what the truth will look like in the future.
This performance is part of Kaneza Schaal: Towards A New Collectivity, an artist series at The Performing Garage with lead funding from the Jerome Foundation and support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
